"Art realizes the variations of the soul and releases us from the personal isolation. It is the sensitive seismograph of ideas and sensations of the place and the time art is born". Nikos Alexiou
In the art room "Alexandros Gardelis", Christos Tsimbourlas presented his personal exhibition under the title " Time-Mythological".
Boats, thrones, warriors and horses in a journey through time.
The artist-creator of today is the resultant of many things: his country, his birth, of civilization, of knowledge, of his character.Furthermore, he is the one who generates soul to the form, sees beyond the landscape, communicates with the forces of the past that created the present, he creates in the present but aims to the future.
Christos Tsimbourlas is exactly this creator. Let's follow him to his journey through the mythological space.
Boats, thrones, warriors and more in a journey through time. The descent of the Dories-a powerful work of art: The Dories who traveled south to find a new home country. The warriors do not have features of war: they portray Greek forms, ancient idols, symbols that have always been an inspiration for the sensitive and strong artists.
In his work there are connotations of all those things that pass away and he wants to maintain them in any way.
The main characteristic of this exhibition is the clarity, the honesty, the strength of the size and the form, his skill to elaborate clay with fire, the luck of cheap impressionism. His works are memories of the "oreon" (aesthetically beautiful) in its simplicity. Memories that have a substance through time.
Moreover, this clearly sculptural work shows Christos Tsimbourlas' character, his disciplined creativity, the perpetual training and his constant questioning on size, form, space, expression concerning art. All this effort, all this thought to reveal the discipline and the battle needed in order to transform the inanimate material to a living form. A form in motion: the substance of intellectual creativity.
Let this trivial review be my humble offer to the work of my dear colleague Christos Tsimbourlas.
Among the purposes of art is to initiate a secret dialogue with art, in order to pass to the world of nostalgia and rebellion. This is a gift that the creator of this exhibition possesses.
